چکیده
Oil and grease (O&G) removal efficiencies using 4 automobile stormwater treatment systems were investigated compared. The used were: low-cost granular activated carbon–rice husk (GAC–RH) filter system, river gravel–granular carbon (GR–GAC) rice only (RH) system the conventional PVC O&G trap (COT). Sampling of from five selected workshops was carried out manual grab sampling methods. involved filtration technologies separation stormwater. GAC–RH exhibited highest with an average efficiency 43.2% all workshops, followed by RH 31%. GR–GAC COT resulted in 28.6% 26.8%, respectively. Further studies need to be optimize GAC materials for purpose achieving USEPA Nigerian effluent standards 0.1 mg/L, since produced effluents minimum concentrations ranging between 0.8 mg/L 3.6 mg/L.

Sustainable oil and grease removal from synthetic stormwater runoff using bench-scale bioretention studies.
One of the principal components of the contaminant load in urban stormwater runoff is oil and grease (O&G) pollution, resulting from vehicle emissions. A mulch layer was used as a contaminant trap to remove O&G (dissolved and particulate-associated naphthalene, dissolved toluene, and dissolved motor oil hydrocarbons) from a synthetic runoff during a bench-scale infiltration study. Approximately...
متن کاملremoval of oil and grease from an oil refinery effluent
in this research performed during 1993-1994, the effluent of behran oil refmery, in south of tehran, which produces different types of industrial oil and greases, was studied and 3 methods of gravity separation, coagulation and flocculation and dissolved air flotation were investigated. in the first phase of the survey, the quality and quantity of the effluent were determined. this showed an av...
متن کاملUse of Bio-Amp, a commercial bio-additive for the treatment of grease trap wastewater containing fat, oil, and grease.
This research investigated the application of Bio-Amp, a commercial bio-additive for the treatment of fat, oil, and grease (FOG) in a grease trap, and evaluated potential impacts of treated effluent on downstream collection system and treatment processes. Results show that after Bio-Amp treatment, FOG deposit formation was reduced by 40%, implicating a potential reduction of sewer line blockage...
متن کاملAn Insight into Oil and Grease Removal from Wastewater from Petroleum and Refinery Industries
Wastewater treatment for removal of organic matter, inorganic matter and heavy metals is becoming increasingly important area of research. The disposal of wastewater to sea and other reservoirs can cause serious environmental problems. Wastewater from petroleum and refineries contains organic matter in various forms. Biodegradable and nonbiodegradable pollutants call for different biological an...
